At the insistence of the town's First Selectman, and to the regrettable disadvantage of the traveler, there are no hotels, motels, or bed and breakfasts in Middlefield. Lodging during your visit must unfortunately be sought in one of the neighboring small cities. Meriden, to the west, has several low-cost motels available on East Main St., as well as its prize, Candlewood Suites, a reasonably priced three-star hotel. Middletown, to the northeast, has several motels designed with cost in mind. Depending on your budget, you may opt for the higher end places, but I recommend shopping from the right as the hotel is not the attraction anyway.
